31 year-old French actress Audrey Tautou will replace 40 year-old Nicole Kidman as the face of Chanel No 5. Tautou, best known for her Oscar nominated role in the French language film Amélie,will appear in commercials starting in 2009.

Her contract is estimated to be worth $4.3 million. The spot will be directed by Jean-Pierre Jeunet who also directed Amélie and A Very Long Engagement.

A nude 1999 photograph of Gisele Bundchen by photographer Michael Comte will be auctioned off at Christies’ next month. The guide price for the smoking image is between $12 to $16 thousand.

However, given the record prices of recent transactions some expect the final sale to be closer to 100 thousand dollars.
