Donna Karan is a hardened serial crook as far as luxury jeweller Cartier is concerned. The watch maker has filed suit against the designer accusing her of stealing its Tank watch name and design.

Karan recently introduced a watch line for DNKY which includes the $115 Ion – Plated Tank Watch. An authentic Cartier Tank Watch can sell for up to $10 thousand. A previous cease-and-desist letter was issued by the luxury Jewellery to Karan in 2003 but she has since started selling a similar watch. Court documents claimed that, "It is apparent that (the) defendant's use of the Cartier Tank trademark in connection with watches is wilful and intentional and done in wilful disregard of Cartier's rights."
