Eco conscious British handbag designer Anya Hindmarch was awarded the MBE as part of the Queen’s New Year honours list in recognition of her environmentally friendly shopping bag campaign.

In 2007 her 'I’m Not a Plastic' Bag re-usable bag became a global sensation and helped raise awareness concerning damage caused to the environment by plastic packaging. Its success encouraged fashion houses to introduce similar carrier bags. The 40 year-old has also partnered with Target in the U.S
