Condé Nast does not seem to have a lot of trust in its own employees. The publishing giant announced that it is setting up an anti-fraud hotline so workers can ‘rat-out’ colleagues who they suspect of such things as computer abuse, press leaks and unauthorized spending.
The company has had a number of incidents where early copies of publications were posted online and expenses have gotten out of control. Chief Financial Officer John Bellando was quoted as saying in an internal company memo...
"Fraud is detrimental to the company--and ultimately to each one of us”. So much for company spirit.
