Alexander McQueen was named winner of the Brit Insurance Design Awards 2010 for fashion his 2010 spring and summer collection.
Industry experts nominated international designers in seven categories which included transport, fashion, product, graphics, furniture, interactive and architecture. The British fashion designer who died last month at the age of 40 was not given the award for sentimental reasons.
One of the judges Paula Reed, style director of Grazia Magazine, was quoted as saying... "Among the fashion nominees, Alexander McQueen was a clear winner .... The designer had been working for years on developing fabrics that could bend the hard into soft, and had pretty much come close to achieving that in this collection." |
