Just before his wildly received show in Paris Karl Lagerfeld was given the ultimate honour. The designer was notified by French President Nicolas Sarkozy that he was to be made a Commander of the French Legion of Honour.

He will be in distinguished company. In recent years Bernard Arnaud CEO of LVMH Moët Hennessy • Louis Vuitton S.A., French supermodel Ines de la Fressange and designers, Sonia Rykiel, Emanuel Ungaro, Yves Saint Laurent and John Galliano were initiated into the order. A date for the ceremony has not yet been released.
