London
The London Coroner has officially closed its investigation into the death of Alexander McQueen. Dr. Paul Knapman concluded that McQueen took his own life by hanging.... “while the balance of his mind was disturbed.”
The designer had a history of depression and anxiety. He was especially vulnerable at the time after the death of his mother. Significant levels of cocaine, sleeping pills and tranquilizers were found in his blood.
The much respected fashion maverick left a suicide note written on the back of the book, The Descent of Man, that was found in his London flat. The letter ended with, ...“Please look after my dogs. Sorry, I love you. Lee.” McQueen also left his own burial instructions.
