Supermodel Claudia Schiffer turned 40 last week. At the age of 17 she appeared on the cover of Elle magazine and soon was chosen by Karl Lagerfeld to become the face of  Chanel. 

During her long career she became one of the most popular models in the world and took part in many high profile advertising campaigns and appeared on the cover of countless magazines. Today the German-born model is married to filmmaker Matthew Vaughn and has 3 children. She lives in London and continues to model for Chanel, Ferragamo, Alberta Ferretti and Yves Saint Laurent.
