Vogue style director Emmanuelle Alt was named to succeed much respected Carine Roitfeld as the editor-in-chief of French Vogue effective February 1st. The announcement was made by the President of Condè Nast France Xavier Romatet.
Alt has been in her present position since 2000 and is credited with contributing to the magazine's extraordinary turnaround success. In explaining his choice Romatet was quoted as saying...
"I wanted to lean on someone who has a recognized eye and who has gained the confidence of the fashion world. Someone very settled, respected as both a fashion editor and as a stylist: two qualities possessed by Emmanuelle Alt." |
