Karen Klok Anderegg the woman who put Elle Magazine on the map died at the age of 70. Anderegg began her career in publishing in 1970's as a copy editor at Mademoiselle. Nine years later she became its managing editor.
She was recruited by Rupert Murdoch to launch Elle in the United State. Within 2 years it reached over 1 million readers. Andereagg is credited with transforming the fashion magazine industry when she emphasised health issues. After she left publishing she went on to become president of Clinique Laboratories Inc. |
