Designing sisters Kate and Laura Mulleavy of Rodarte are turning their talents to creating costumes for the upcoming Los Angeles Philharmonic production of the Mozart opera Don Giovanni. The set will be designed by Frank Gehry.

The opera will début on May 18th. According to conductor Gustavo Dudamel’s... “Kate and Laura’s work reminds me of my early days, it is free and fearless and not precious."

Previously the Mulleavy’s designed the costumes for the film Black Swan which earned an Academy Award for actress Natalie Portman. Many felt the sisters should have earned an Oscar for their efforts.
